Service announcement: migration in progress for a few weeks (no new content)

The decision

The decision has been made. I'm moving the whole Swiss Innovation Academy website, all the courses, the books, templates and the 500+ Q&A to a new system.

I've decided to do this for several reasons:

• It's much cheaper to run: especially now that I've decided to make all my books and courses for free.

• It's open source: and therefore fits better my philosophy of sharing

• It's much more accessible both for humans and robots (SEO has always been an issue before).

• It's better optimized and runs on sustainable hosting, which means it will use less resources

• It allows me to later create my own "template" that will be even more accessible and sustainable.

The hosting I'm using: Magicpages

I've decided to go with a fully managed hosting, instead of taking the official one from Ghost, which makes you pay by the number of subscribers, I went with Magicpages. Magicpages is run by just a few people, and has a life time plan. This is a huge change for me, especially as Podia and my newsletter cost my a lot in the past.

What this means for you: now

Right now, this version of the website will not get much more new content over the next weeks and over the summer. As I have to do a migration of 10+ years of content, that will take some time.

If you are curious you can access the alpha version of the new website here. A lot will change, including the template.

What this means for you: later

The website will totally change:

• The layout won't be the same

• There will be a real full site search feature (finally!)

• You will not have to register to access content anymore

The newsletter will change:

• I'll move the newsletter on this website to a monthly rythm, to reduce my costs, but for those who want to stay on a weekly rythm you'll be able to get it via Linkedin.

The content will stay the same:

• The old content will still be there, here and there with broken links fixed and with way too old stuff archived.

• New content will continue then to arrive weekly once the migration is finished.
