Positive news from elsewhere 

I’m an optimist and as there is so much bad news out there at the moment, I want at my scale to rebalance things by sharing also some positive news for service owners and creators. 

• Thailand defeated rubella: Rubella is no longer a public health problem in Thailand, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), which described the achievement as a “major milestone”.    

• Germany pledged to quit fossil fuels by 2045: In a significant policy shift, the German government has committed to phasing out fossil fuels by 2045. 

• Landmine clearance paves way for Kosovo’s recovery: The Halo Trust, a mine-clearance charity, announced this week that its work in the country was done, claiming the cleared land has “paved the way for Kosovo’s recovery”.
