Mix digital and physical

It's not because you run a remote workshop that everything has to be digital.
Lately when I prepare a remote workshop, I love to send a package at home to every workshop participant. In the package there is a little note with another package. The note says: don't open this before the workshop. In the package I add a few goodies and snacks so that people feel really welcomed to the workshop. I feel that sharing food and drinks even virtually creates a sense of bond. And people usually smile when they get some good Swiss chocolate. For added effect, you can personalize each gift so that people will share with their webcam what they received.
Another thing I love to do with long remote workshops or remote sprints is to have some sport breaks. A little break where you ask people to do jumping squats is usually a fun little moment that gives energy to everyone.
Finally I sometimes ask people to do stuff with their hands. It can be a prototype made with cardboard and legos and then share it with their webcam. Or to draw something on paper and then take a picture and share it. People are usually more crafty and creative with their hands than with a cursor and a mouse.
So think about this: what could you do in your remote workshop physically to make it a stronger experience?
