What is a Design Sprint?

In short: A Design Sprint is a 5-day innovation process to test ideas with a prototype that is very well structured and feels like a re-assuring recipe.

A Recipe for Innovation

A Design Sprint, created by folks at Google, is now used by big corporations and facilitators worldwide. The goal? By the end of the 5 days, you test a prototype to see if your idea works for the people you aim to serve.

Each day has specific goals and activities, much like following a recipe. You know exactly what to do when and how long each step takes. The result? At least one prototype tested with at least five people.

Learning More

To dive deeper, check out the book Sprint. It covers everything in detail. But you don’t have to stop there. The website offers slides, checklists, and descriptions about the process. Given its popularity, you'll find countless tutorials and articles from facilitators globally who share their own tips and even how they adapted the recipe to their taste.

A Local Expert

One expert I admire is Steph Cruchon from Switzerland. His agency specializes in proposing and facilitating Design Sprints for organizations both locally and abroad.
