How do you bring experts that don't speak the local language in a Design Sprint?

In short: use live transcription and live translated captions from video conferencing tools like Microsoft tools or presentations tools like Powerpoint.

The problem

Sometimes, the best experts to invite to a Design Sprint may not speak the local language. You could hire a translator, but that's not always practical or cost-effective for a 20 minute interview.

Use live translation in your video conferencing tool

One alternative is to use video conferencing tools that support live transcription and translation.

For example, Microsoft Teams offers these features, depending on your version or how the IT of your company set it up. You may have access to live transcription, and in some cases, live translation.

Zoom has also a similar live translation feature.

Use Powerpoint

Another hack is to use PowerPoint’s live translation feature. Powerpoint can translate audio captured through a microphone into subtitles in another language.
