The blog has now categories

In this tiny article I'm sharing the 9 categories my 100+ blog articles are categorized in and how I've designed these categories.

Published in the Backstage Blog

Today, I've spent some time today to add categories to each of the 112 blog articles that exist, as of today, on this blog.

The blog home page change

The blog now has right before the list of all blog articles links to each of the categories.

The new category pages

You can now see all the blog articles related to one category in a new page layout that builds on the idea of the home of the blog, but looks different enough so that it's not confusing.

Meet the new categories

I've created so far 9 categories:

  1. Life Design where I share thoughts on how to create a calm and happy life

  2. Productivity where I share tips on how to be faster and more efficient in your work

  3. Second Brain where I share my experiments and tips when it comes to create an open knowledge base of what you have in your brain

  4. Books and courses creation where I share what is needed to create education content like books, courses and templates

  5. Marketing where I share tips and learnings I've made while trying to make people aware of the resources I've created for them

  6. Numbers where I share numbers like money made, time spent, etc. so that you can see what creating a project like the Swiss Innovation Academy really takes and brings

  7. Community Building where I share learnings I've made while trying to bring people together around Service Design communities like the Swiss Service Design Network

  8. Podia where I share my thoughts, hacks and tips after many years of using Podia as my main home base for the Swiss Innovation project

  9. AI where I show my experiments using AI, what worked and what didn't

These category show how my thinking evolved

For me, these categories allow me to revisit how my thoughts have evolved over the years in specific categories.

For example it's pretty interesting to notice, in the Productivity category how I went from hardcore notion to these days having a much simpler setup.

Or it's interesting to notice in the Second Brain category all the experiments that I've done within and outside Podia to make my Q&A library work.

In the Marketing category I can see how I first produced videos just for big courses, then went all in, and now for sustainability reasons have drastically reduced them and returned to writing.

This is the beauty of this blog: each article is a snapshot in time, and it's pretty funny and interesting to see how things change fast. I hope these categories also make it clearer that all of this are just experiments in progress and that most thing will change from the minute I wrote them.

Why now?

But Daniele, why didn't you do this before? Why wait to have 100+ articles in the blog to do this?

The answer is simple, I didn't wait, it wasn't possible before to do this with Podia. But today I've noticed a new update made by Podia that enables a category feature for the blog.

This was a feature I've requested a few months ago (I surely wasn't the only one) and I'm super happy that Podia listened to that feedback and made it happen!

Meet the creator

I'm Daniele an Innovation Coach and Service Designer from Switzerland.

I worked with clients from all over the world to help them find innovative solutions to their problem. I've been blessed to be able to learn a lot.
Today I want to share  these learnings back with the community. That's why I've built the Swiss Innovation Academy.
