“[Daniele] helped me stand out among 700 applicants and secure a place in a prestigious Master's Degree program in Service Design”

Linda Paulauska
Storyteller and Aspiring Service Designer

When I discovered Service Design, I was amazed by the change this approach can bring. I became curious about the discipline, methodology, and techniques involved. And then I discovered Daniele and his content. Thanks to Daniele's effort and the content he created, I learned and became skilled in Service Design to use this practice in my field. But it's not just about learning from the content that Daniele has created; it's also about him being at the heart of the community. The online events where he gathers Service Designers together have allowed me to learn from other Service Design practitioners and connect with designers all over the world. And it's all because of Daniele's effort.

Learning from him improved my Service Design skills to the extent that I was able to showcase my knowledge and abilities. This helped me stand out among 700 applicants and secure a place in a prestigious Master's Degree program in Service Design. We were competing with students from all over the world, and I was fortunate to be among the other 29 study peers from various countries - Thailand, the USA, China, India, Germany, Italy, Venezuela, Portugal, Finland, and many others.

But let's be honest - there's more. It's Daniele's personality that shines through his content, making the Service Design community a pleasant place to be. It's his sense of humor - yes, he jokes about his own mistakes and mishaps. It's his approach to work, almost completely transparently showcasing the backstage of his work approach. And it’s his responsible and punctual attitude that aligns with my own. I love the attention to Swiss time, which is perfect timing, and I truly appreciate his shoutouts to voluntary contributors like his guests in the discussions. He always finds a nice way to thank those who participate voluntarily and is mindful of others' time. That’s the personality whose values align with my own, and that’s what makes learning Service Design and being part of the community so enjoyable.

Reviews

If there is one book that I would re- read, it would be this book [...] I Highly recommend this book for a quick-read as it comprises byte-sized design tips derived from real life experiences.

Sharanya Sribabu

I can recommend this smart book to everyone who wants to learn how easy it is to make the world a bit more service friendly. First resume: it is not witchcraft.

Jörn Kohlschmidt

Reading this book is essentially micro learning done well. This book does make it clear how these principles help make an experience better. It is a gem with a good number of relatable, real-life examples.

KC Shiroma

There is brilliance in the simplicity [of this book]. [It] provides ideas on how to boost services and how to rethink how they came to be and how slight changes can change everything.

Amy Ross

In a world where many things are becoming too complicated, this book reminds us that anyone can be creative and become a designer who can make the world a better place

Nobuya Sato

Daniele reminds us the impact that organisations have in the way they choose to connect with their customers. As well as the little things that can be done which make all the difference.

Dan Levy

This is an excellent handbook for any designer looking to 'humanise' a client's offering.

Hemul Goel

Daniele's writing is really accessible. Simple, anecdotal and still referenced - it offers an insight not only into better Service Design but could just as easily be a manual for better business and customer service.

Taiss Quartapa

This book is essential reading for any designer, owner of a business or service who wishes to have a direct impact on the end customer experience.

Daniele is one of the foremost thinkers in the rapidly growing field of service design - something I have a professional and personal interest in, but didn't have a name for until I came across his posts on LinkedIn. Two things stand out about his approach: He is extremely transparent about his process, and generous with sharing his knowledge.
