What tools do I use to publish my webinars?

What tools do I use to publish my webinars?

In this short article I want to share with you my setup that makes it possible for me to host my live Service Design Webinars

How does the final thing look like?

During the webinar I show both slides and my little face. The webinar video is shown during the live event via Youtube and the archive is visible for everyone via the Swiss Innovation Academy website.

How does it look in the behind the scenes?

The whole thing obviously looks way less polished in the behind the scenes. It's just my everyday desk with even a spot (on the left) for my cat to sleep while I'm working.

What software tools do I use for my webinars?

  1. Podia: the place where people can register and rewatch the videos

  2. Dateful: a tool to let people know what will be the event time in their local time

  3. Restream: a super simple tool to stream to youtube both my webcam and my slides. It allows also to display chat messages that people send during the event and to record the webinar.

  4. Youtube: that's the streaming service I use to share the webinar live.

  5. Canva the all in one design tool I use to create all the marketing material, the slides, thumbnails for the webinar.

What hardware tools do I use for my webinars

  1. Airpods Pro: I used previsouly a Blue Yeti Mic, but there were interferences during the live event so I switched to my Airpods Pro and use them as my microphone. Once I'll have 10 or so webinar behind me I'll buy a proper mic.

  2. Elgato Facecam: a high quality webcam with manual settings.

  3. Eglato Keylight Air I use one of these lights to light my face directly and one as a "hair light" to create a more interesting shadow.

  4. An old Intel Macbook Pro from 2017: the ventilator kicks in often, but it gets the work done.
